There is a $10 per hour party fee payable at time of registration as your non-returnable deposit .
The party include a Studio party leader to help with the craft and to set up and clean up all craft materials, as well as well as a party loot bag for all guests and a special Studio T-Shirt for the guest of honor.
We'll design your party just the way you want it . You can bring food and drinks and open gifts - just let us know.
Can't make it to us? Inquire about an offsite party .
To register, just give us a call at (518) 823-4053 or send us an email using the form below.
How long is a typical kids party?
The length of the party depends on the guests age, the craft and whether you will serve food and open gifts. A good rule of thumb is 1 hour for ages 3-5, 1 ½ hours for ages 6-9 and anywhere from 1 ½ - 2 ½ hours for older kids .
Do you provide food for parties or can I bring my own?
The Studio does not provide food, so you are free to bring whatever you like . Pizza works well for real food and cupcakes are a popular choice for cake (no need for a knife to cut or forks to eat!).
Remember to bring cups for drinks and napkins and also a tablecloth. Oh, and dont forget the candles - though we have some available at the Studio if you forget.
Do parents stay for the party?
Our party area is for the children and the parents of the guest of honor . This is only because there is limited space and the Studio staff needs to be able to move around and help the guests easily. We advise the party host to suggest that parents of the guests wander over to the bookstore or down to Coby's for the duration of the craft part of the party. Once the Studio staff has reset the table for food and gift opening, there will be more room for the parents who want to come back early.
Will the guests be able to take their craft home with them from the party?
If this is something the guest of honor or party host wants, we will help you select a party where this is possible . There are many to choose from: wearable art, jewelry, candy making and clay sculpting are among the most popular. For crafts like paint your own pottery, handbuilding with clay or glass fusing, it takes time for the pieces to dry and be fired. For most projects, you will be able to pick up the finished party pieces in a week.

Donation_Request_form.pdf
Did someone say FUN draising? Thats what we call it here at The Studio! See if one of these fundraising ideas will work for your organization:
Tile Wall: You set the price and invite your school, church, community organization or other group to paint a tile. We'll come to you with all the paints, tiles and tools. Well set up, clean up, fire your tiles and return them to you ready to install.
Pottery Painting Party: We've done this with Scouts, Odyssey of the Mind and sports teams. Pick a date for a pottery painting party - your group sells the $15 tickets and helps work at the party
delivering pottery, washing brushes, cleaning tables. In return, we give your group $5 out of every ticket.
Empty Bowls: This is a special community event to help raise awareness of hunger issues and stamp out hunger in our community. Bring your school class, church group, civic group or family in to make and glaze a bowl that will be donated to the Schoharie County Empty Bowls annual fundraiser in November, where the community comes together to each a soup lunch and keep the bowl they choose. Just $5 per person.
Donations: The Studio for Art and Craft is an active community member. Because we are asked for donations almost daily, we have streamlined the process to make it easier for everyone involved. Please complete the brief application form at the top of this page and email it to thestudioforartandcraft_gmail.com . We meet at the end of each month to review donation requests.
We're open to other suggestions as well. Just let us know what you'd like to do and we'll try to make it work!
Our field trips work two ways: you can come to us or we can come to you!
Make it With Clay at The Studio : We can seat up to 25 at our clay worktables. Students will learn about clay, basic sculpting techniques, glazing and firing and will make and glaze their own bowl, mug or tile.
We'll even tour the kiln room.
Clay at School : Dont have time or budget to leave the school? We'll come to you! We'll bring everything the kids need to make a clay ornament or bowl.
Wearable Art : Another favorite for field trips and group events. It's easy enough that anyone of any age (even adults) can do it. Draw and paint an original picture and we'll transfer it on to a soft white shirt
while you wait.
The Studio for Art and Craft was opened in the fall of 2009 by Jacqui Hauser and Brian Kaiser. They had been producing and selling jewelry at farmer's markets and trade shows for years and wanted to broaden their horizons. Thus, The Studio was born. Initially it offered just Paint Your Own Pottery and beaded jewelry, but over the years dozens of crafts have been added to The Studio's repertoire to make it the crafting hub it is today.
